Swami Vivekanand Integration English School (SVIES), Latur, celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on 2nd October 2025 with great reverence and patriotic spirit. The programme was a tribute to the invaluable contributions of these महान leaders to the nation.
The celebration commenced with a melodious welcome song, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. The event was graced by Administrative Coordinator Mr. Vikas Labade, Principal Mrs. Varsha Labade, Vice-Principal Mrs. Shivkanya Tat, Junior Wing Academic Coordinator Mrs. Sushma Gadade, Academic In-charge Mr. Sanjay Biradar, Mr. Namdev Madibone (HOD, Rajmata Jijau Hostel), along with Heads of various school committees.
The dignitaries paid homage by garlanding the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, marking the beginning of the commemorative programme.
The Chief Speaker, Mr. Dagadusaheb Balasaheb Kawade, delivered an insightful address on the life and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting his principles of truth, simplicity, and nonviolence. His words inspired students to understand the power of peace and moral values in shaping society.
In his address, Mr. Vikas Labade emphasized the significance of Gandhian movements such as the Non-Cooperation Movement and the Quit India Movement, and their continued relevance in modern times. He also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri, remembering his exemplary leadership and his inspiring slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.”
The programme was gracefully compered by Mr. Dattatray Ohal, whose coordination ensured the smooth flow of the event.
The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the timeless values of truth, nonviolence, simplicity, and patriotism. It inspired students to imbibe these ideals in their daily lives and contribute positively to society, carrying forward the legacy of these great leaders.
