Ashadhi Ekadashi Celebration:"Wari to Wisdom – A Cultural Celebration in Education"

05-07-2025

The auspicious festival of Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated with great devotion, cultural spirit, and educational value at our school on Saturday, 5th July 2025. The celebration aimed not only to mark a significant spiritual tradition but also to instill the values of devotion, discipline, and community unity among students.

 Warkari Procession (Dindi Yatra):
The day commenced with a grand Warkari-style procession across the school campus. Students, dressed in traditional white kurta-pyjama and Warkari caps, enthusiastically participated by chanting "Vitthal Vitthal" and playing cymbals and lezim. The rhythmic taal of Abhangas and the vibrant energy brought a divine atmosphere alive, symbolizing the age-old Pandharpur Wari tradition.

Abhanga Singing:
The school choir and selected students performed soul-touching Abhangas composed by Sant Tukaram and Sant Dnyaneshwar. These devotional songs glorified Lord Vitthal and conveyed spiritual wisdom in a melodious way, reflecting the deep cultural roots of Maharashtra's Warkari Sampradaya.

Speech by Student – Importance of Warkari Movement in Education:
A Class 7 student- delivered an insightful speech emphasizing the importance of the Warkari Movement in education. The student highlighted how the teachings of saints like Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj promote moral values, equality, compassion, self-discipline, and community service—all integral to holistic education. The movement's message of "Bhakti (devotion) with knowledge" was beautifully connected to the current educational system that emphasizes both intellectual and emotional growth.

 Principal's Address:
Our respected Principal addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of students and staff. She emphasized how such celebrations connect students to Indian culture and heritage, teaching them the values of devotion, harmony, and simplicity. The principal urged students to take inspiration from the Warkari philosophy and apply it in their daily lives—especially the values of truthfulness, respect for elders, and unity in diversity.

 Conclusion:
The event concluded with a heartfelt "Pasaydan" prayer, wishing peace and happiness for all beings. The Ashadhi Ekadashi celebration left a lasting impression on the students, reminding them that education is not just confined to textbooks, but also about understanding and living the values our saints and traditions have handed down to us.
